RB5.5 consistently builds smaller faster apps than RB2006, and the interface is 
much easier to
navigate that that enormous one-window behemoth that is the 2000 series.

These days I'm doing a lot of graphics programming in RB. I've found that 
RGBsurface operations
are about 30% slower in RB2005 than in RB5.5, maybe they've improved it since I 
last ran my tests.


Of course, your mileage may vary.
