I hope I don't bore you but I found it quite funny how Bill Atkinson while developing MacPaint got the inspiritation for marching ants in a hamburger bar:

And even more interesting when Andy Hertzfold told in a tv-interview how in 2004 Donald Knuth(!) "said he thought MacPaint was probably the best program ever written. Was it possible for him to see the source code?"
