I use only UB IDE on a MacBook with Mac OS X 10.4.8 and I have no crashes at all. I have to force my brain to remember any crashes...

FWIW I find that using the PPC IDE on Intel doesn't crash at all, while the UB IDE crashes pretty often. It may be worth giving up some speed by using the PPC IDE in exchange for less crashing.

Yes, but not for me. I prefer faster operation over more stableness.

I'm currently a part-time RB user, this the stability problem isn't a big
problem for me right now.
