Thank all of you for help. It seems that just inserting
a semicolon at the end of he QUERY statement causes it
to work. Thanks also for all the other help. I understand
much more how REALBasic Databases work now! And the
crashes disappeared when I removed the REALBasic
breakpoints!

Does this mean that I will be dependent on third party
software? I have very bad experience of making myself
dependent on third party software. When I started to use
REALBasic in 2001, I used a package named "faststring". But
since this package was not upgraded to later versions of
REALBasic, I cannot modify my own old software any more!
Nor can I recompile them for Mac OS X.

What is the difference between REALBasic data bases
and SQLite?
