I just installed Ubuntu under Parallels on my MacBook, and I'm
impressed. I've never used a Linux OS before, but it's official:
everything is better than Windows.
If you get the JaS Enabler, you could always install OS X on it
instead, but that's a hard file to come by.
Truthfully though, if you don't need Windows, don't use Windows. I
have to maintain about a dozen of them for work, and they continually
piss me off despite knowing my way around them exceedingly well.
