As you can see from the bug report the PEF plug-in bug is fixed. It would be
nice for RS to remove the PEF plug-in part but given the deprecated status I
doubt. William Yu from RS posted this:

I think you should sign on since fixing this with an open-source plug-in
would be trivial.
