> Matt Neuburg: REALBasic, The Definitive Guide (there is a 2nd Edition!)
This was _the_ RB book in its day, and I still think it is probably a
good introduction. Even though there are many improvements since then,
the basic concepts haven't changed. (The user interface has, but it's
fairly easy to pick up in any case.) I recommend reading this for
"quick immersion" in terms of the language and built-in libraries. For
more detailed info, consult more recent references such as:
> What about the REALbasic Developer magazine? Does it make sense to
> subscribe as a newbie to REALbasic?
Absolutely. There's lots of beginner info in there, it's up to date,
and you'll get a good sense of the RB ecosystem and other resources
that you can access.
The other online stuff is hit and miss...you'll find a lot of nice
tips and tricks online but you'll spend a lot of time wading through
cruft. TDG and RBD will get you started in the right direction.
