To be fair, if you were using some other tool or language, it
probably wouldn't have an HTML control at all. You'd be forced to
either write your own or hook into something provided by the OS via
declares or ActiveX -- and you can do either of those in RB, too.
What's frustrating here is that RB gives you the *appearance* of
being able to do a project simply, and it appears to work in simple
tests, so you go ahead and commit to a project -- and then discover
that it can't be done simply at all. I got bit by this myself (also
by the HTMLViewer control), and have a dissatisfied client as a
result. I would have been better off if the HTMLViewer were not part
of the feature list, so I wouldn't have been suckered into thinking
that I could use it.
