There is a difference between science and scientific fact.
"Science" (whatever that means) can be wrong, misleading, broken or
falsified. It can even be enough to get us by, for a time.
"Scientific fact" often starts with observation and experimentation, which,
through some sort of human logic or another (including computer-based), is
used to form a hypothesis which is either correct, partially correct (which
can mislead), or false or falsified, etc.
After all, the world really was flat for some people...
And, atoms used to be the smallest particles in existence...
And, we never really needed any more than 64K RAM ;)
To me, science is based on human perceptions of evidence, even if determined
to be "fact".
