I have no intention of using SuperSpriteSurface in production code until it
is released and maybe not even then. My comment was directed at RS's release
note that recommended a product that sat dormant for many years and at the
time of the release was in no way equivalent of what they were deprecating.

As have I (I can remember when John worked for RS) but John has not really
been actively maintaining SuperSpriteSurface. I develop commercial software.
Every time I look at a using a third-party tool I need to do a ROI and
risk/reward analysis. I use a number of commercial plug-ins that have a good
maintenance track record. With John I doubt we would look at
SuperSpriteSurface if we couldn't get a source license or escrow at a
reasonable cost.

I really have no issue with John. I do have an issue with how RS is
approaching deprecation.
