I am sure that those wiser than I have already explained everything, but I blame the hiring of ex-Microsoft programmers at Apple.

In my opinion, every major OSX.N release has been 2 or 3 steps backwards for 1 step forward with the N.m releases maybe making up some lost ground.

I still stumble over cmd-N creating a window rather than a folder - a change for the sake of change.
