I don't think we need to do anything to provide copy protection for
plug-ins. Simply add a method to your plug-ins that takes a serial number as
a parameter, checks the serial number to make sure it's a good one, then
sets a flag that is checked internally by the plug-in. If the developer
doesn't call the routine to validate their serial number before they call
any other routines, the plug-in should do nothing.

This is how plug-ins in the 4D world work.
