For me this is almost a semi annual event, but here it goes!

I need a RB plugin developer to take up the Wastefield plugin project.

In short, the Wastefield plugin is a wrapper for the WASTE text engine. http://www.merzwaren.com/waste/ It has powerful features such as paragraph level formatting, character shifting, embedded graphics with metadata, and sophisticated printing routines.

Doug Holton created the v2.0 plugin many years ago and it was successfully used by myself and others to do things beyond the capability of the RB textfield. Doug stopped working on the project and I contacted him to obtain permission to continue development. I hired a programmer and things were going slow but ok until the release of RB 5.5, at which point the developer stated that the code base (2.0) would pretty much have to be scrapped the way RB 5.5 handles things.

The main goals of the 2.1 release were to fix some drawing bugs and implement true Unicode support.

So, as of now the 2.1 beta is still out there, but will never work with 5.5+, so I still do a lot of my work in 5.2.4, because I have to.

I know that other people are willing to pay for a completed 2.1 Wastefield plugin, but I am willing to pay for its development.

If you are interested please contact me via email.

Regards,

Todd Fantz
