Interesting. Does this mean that RB will let us users choose
which of the available plugins are to used (activated and loaded)
per project, similarly to the way we can already choose which
Active X controls we want to import?

That'd be quite nice, and I would accept the trade-off that it
may cause of some plugins not to work any more in exchange
for this feature.
