With a show of hands, who has bought a brand-spanking new windows XP machine
and said... "I guess I'll put Linux on my old machine to play with"... My
experience has been that most people put Linux on their older machines, and
Windows on newer ones. This gives Linux the unfortunate stigma of being
slow. I guarantee you, go out and spend $1200 on a new Linux machine (P4
3.0, 1GB RAM, ATA 120GB HD and Nvidia 128 MB Video) and you won't have any
doubts about its usability.
