From what I remember, 86 processors can process both LE and BE, so theoretically an BigEndian OS could be installed on a PC box.

Computer science 101 -> Endian is bound to the processor, not to to operating system.

So if its a box that can run Windows then you can be very sure that it has the same endian as the Windows.
