I take it that this basically means that the icon cannot look good in Mac style non .rbx plugin ?

It means it can't have an 8-bit mask, correct. It also can't support the larger icon we may use at some point in the future. Please move to the new RBX format.

If you still want the plugin to be useful by older RB versions then you cant use the RBX format for those old versions.

I think that's the gist of the question.

No RBX has been around for quite a while, I don't think we support in new plugins any REALbasic version that does not support RBX.

Quite possible. iut has been around for a long while and the ONLY reason I could suppose that anyone would not want to support it is because of very old RB versions.

So there is no good reason for me not to use RBX also for the Mac except few reasons like: 1) Users hate the RBX because there is no obvious version info in it.

I hate that as well

2) I dislike the concept of rbx because they are very slow.

Using you plugins in a fairly large project I'm working on for a client I dont seem to see any slowness.
Where might a developer notice this ?
