Why are you calling REALnewInstance when you're running your plugin
in the IDE anyway?
There are many reasons for such, if you have a calendar control then
you need date object math for example to calculate the calendar days.
Basically with complex controls then if not having objects in the IDE
then we might as well draw a big black X in design mode and a text
which says that older versions of REALbasic were better.
And of course let us not forget that this was promised to work in 2005
(with minor restrictions) - REALnewInstance and use of Objects that is,
including in the IDE. And we were also promised that they would be
working actively with plugin authors on resolving the issues. But
nothing has been moving in this matter backward or forward since before
easter which pretty much puts a end to large complex plugin controls in
REALbasic I would say (The larger plugin controls wont be debugged and
fixed a day or two before release of 2005, it is simply not possible in
such timeframe)
