As to your question, the MH_BUNDLE format from all I can tell has been there since NeXT days, and should work back as far as RB goes.

If a developer does not do this they suffer longer load times but can still work on OS X versions < 10.3 (all 10.1 and 10.2) ?
Just trying to understand the pros  / cons of this and the implications
