Philadelpha, PA (June 14, 2004) -- Alien Apparatus Company, Inc.
(www.alienapparatus.com), has announced a new product to help solo
musicians control their shows. The new product, Solo Performer Show
Controller, is a 6-button foot pedal device that connects to laptop
computers via a USB connection. On the computer, play lists of backing
audio files are created and played, along with lyric displays and
lightshow events. The foot controller allows the musician to control
the backing audio and lights in a hands-free manner while performing
live on stage. Solo Performer Show Controller software is made with
REALbasic from REAL Software, Inc.
Solo Performer Show Controller plays mp3 files, aiff files, wave files,
and midi files. It can control lights that operate using the
industry-standard DMX512 protocol, and can display lyrics on-screen in
a karaoke-like manner. The software also includes a utility for
stripping out unwanted tracks in midi files.
Many musicians who perform as a solo act use backing music to accompany
them. For example, a singing guitar player might play backing audio to
supply drums, bass guitar, and keyboard parts. Typically, backing
audio is supplied by either a midi controller or a laptop computer
using a standard mp3 player program. Mp3 player programs are great
because they give the musician a lot of organizational capabilities for
managing play lists. Unfortunately, before the release of Solo
Performer Show Controller, there was no system on the market made for
the specific needs of the solo artist.
Solo Performer Show Controller is available for both Windows and
Macintosh computer systems. For more information on the product, or to
