Oxalyn Software Updates AE Monitor to Version 1.7
LYNNWOOD, Washington (September 28, 2004) -- AE Monitor allows Mac OS X
developers to capture, analyze, and recreate Apple Events. Users can examine
the internal workings of each event and create source code to replicate the
event from their applications. Many development environments are supported,
including REALbasic, Perl, Tcl, and any environment that can use the
AEBuild() command with an AEGizmo string. Additionally, AE Monitor can
create native REALbasic code to send Apple Events.
A free 30-day demo is available here:

Version 1.7 is a free update to existing registered users. Volume
licensing is now available, with attractive discounts for multiple
users.
New features in version 1.7:
- AppleScript Command: AE Monitor can now convert captured events into
their AppleScript equivalent, in either compiled AppleScript or raw
event codes ("«event coreopen»", for example").
- You can now file bug reports from the application itself, in addition
to visiting the Oxalyn.com webpage.
- You can now filter by target name. If you want to ignore any event
targeted to the Finder, for example, create a filter acting on "Finder"
and unclick the Target checkbox.
- Performance has been dramatically improved for situations where large
number of events accumulate very quickly.
- Volume licensing: You can now purchase and use a license code that
allows more than 1 user on the network; for example, 10 users at one
time using the same serial number.
Other improvements:
- The Edit/Create Filter commands now activate the correct preferences
panel
- The RB native code generator now creates proper code for null
parameters ("----":null)
- AE Monitor no longer quits claiming it is expired, even though it's
registered
- The Event Data Browser now shows the correct data if you have a child
event selected (as opposed to a main level event). (thanks, Frank!)
- If too many events occur at once, they will not all appear in the
proxy window; instead, a comment will appear noting how many events
were omitted.
- Filters now behave a little better
