Sticking convenience on your desktop

have used pieces of paper to write short notes as reminders -- for a task
to-do or a phone number. Although technology has made progress, this
concept of making notes has not changed. Why not combine something as
simple as writing a note with the worldwide power of a modern communication
network? This idea is the basis of development for iSticky. ISticky gives
you the capability to post small aqua-like notes to your desktop and beyond.
iSticky also enables you to send your notes to others by using Rendezvous,
Internet (IM) and Short Message Service (SMS). iSticky is made with
REALbasic from REAL Software, Inc.
For communication beyond your local network, iSticky makes use of the
iStickyServer. This server manages the communication to and from your free
worldwide iSticky account. It stores the notes you haven't yet read and
synchronizes your notes on the different desktops you may have. In addition,
the iStickyServer gives you an up to date status of your sent SMS and of the
iSticky SMS credits you have remaining.
Safety and security are two of the main issues that iSticky manages as well.
Therefore, it can encode messages on your server with 128-bit AES encryption
technology. Also, for confidential communiqués with a contact, you can
choose to encrypt specific notes as well. Simply mutually agree with your
contact on the encryption key to use. Once both of you have entered the key,
communication is smoothly encrypted and decrypted in the background.
iSticky contains many additional features:
- Manage notes by appearance, category or theme
- Customizable note characteristics
- Archive notes to desktop or disk
- iStickyServer protected from spam and message bombs; block unwanted
messages by blacklisting users
Pricing and Availability
The worldwide note-service of iSticky is free, your account and
server space included. Understandably, sending a note to a cell
phone using SMS is not free, but is offered at a very low cost. All the
above-mentioned safe and extended note-managing features are available
starting at $24 US.
