Sp at mX Fights Back, One Spammer In The Slammer!
Hendrickson Software Components Announces Grass Roots Anti-spam
Campaign.
Arlington, Virginia (September 26, 2005) - Hendrickson Software
Components (hsc)
announced today that Sp at mX, the company's popular software for spam
source
tracing and reporting, will be used to support a year long anti-spam
campaign
that has three goals.
-One spammer in the slammer.
Using information collected by Sp at mX users, track down the individual
(s) that
are responsible for the highest volume of spam. Then see that they
are prosecuted
for violation of United States anti-spam laws.
-One phisher in the slammer.
Using information collected by Sp at mX users, track down the individual
(s) that are
responsible for the highest volume of phishing attacks. Then see
that they are
prosecuted for violation of United States and International anti-
phishing laws.
-Track the Internet Service Provider (ISP) of the domain that is
responsible for
the highest volume of spam among Sp at mX users, and whether or not the
ISP is
actually processing abuse complaints, and dealing with the abuser
(s). Civil
legal action will be taken against the ISP with the worst record to
remove any
incentive for them to continue their spammer friendly operations.
According to Jeff Hendrickson, author of Sp at mX, "Spam and phishing
attacks are
probably the most prevalent 'quality of life' crime that affects the
largest number
of United States citizens. The United States Congress has given law
enforcement a
wonderful set of laws to deal with these criminals, but no one is
really using
them to fight back against these online predators. Sp at mX users have
collaborated
on this approach to deal with this problem through their use of Sp at mX
and the
hsc message board (www.hendricom.com). Our goal is to put one of
these online
predators in jail by the end of 2006, and financially ruin a spammer
friendly ISP.
The more people that get involved with this effort, the more likely
it will succeed.
I encourage everyone that has been negatively affected by this blight
to join us."
Sp at mX enables everyone from end users to IT professionals working in
complex
networked environments to effectively reduce spam in their e-mail
Inbox and
on their network. Sp at mX works by automatically tracing the source of
spam and
reporting offenders to their respective Internet Service Providers.
Sp at mX users
typically see their spam levels drop dramatically within four weeks.
"My inbox was overrun with spam. At one point I think I received
about 250 spam
e-mails in a 12-hour period," offers Thomas Wright, a broker with
Believer's
Realty in Phoenix. "Since I installed and started using Sp at mX, I'm
seeing real
results. Last night at approximately 9:30 p.m., I had received less
than ten
spam e-mails and as of 7:15 this morning I have received ZERO...
nada... none!"
Sp at mX is available for Windows, Macintosh and Linux. This makes Sp at mX
ideal
for people who use one environment at work and another at home, or
for those
who work in mixed computing environments, or for those who like to
use software
that is available for multiple platforms should their needs and
interests change
in the future.
Pricing and Availability
Sp at mX is available in both client and server editions. The client
edition is
priced at $19.95 US. The server edition is priced at $399.95 US. The
product
can be purchased directly from hsc at http://www.hendricom.com.
Quantity discounts are available; please contact the company for
