REAL Software Ships REALbasic 2006 Release 3 for Linux; Gives Visual
Basic Development Teams a Quick Path to Linux

AUSTIN, Texas, USA (July 6, 2006) -- REAL Software, Inc., provider of
REALbasic, cross-platform that really works, announced today that
REALbasic 2006 Release 3 for Linux is available now. In addition to the over 100
features and fixes that have been added, REALbasic 2006 Release 3 for
Linux has been specifically tested and optimized for use with SUSE Linux
Enterprise Desktop from Novell.

"REALbasic is a great tool for Linux," stated Miguel de Icaza, vice
president of developer platforms for Novell. "Where Mono focuses on
bringing .NET applications to Linux, REALbasic migrates Basic
applications to Linux. With SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop and REALbasic,
enterprises now have a true alternative to the Windows desktop."

"SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop is the best Linux desktop on the market,"
stated Geoff Perlman, president and CEO of REAL Software. "Rather than
waiting for Vista we think many IT managers and CIOs will now make the
move to Linux because it's more secure, less expensive, and much more
open than Windows. And for those businesses who are still locked into
Windows by their legacy Visual Basic applications, REAL Software will
help move those applications to SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop. We look
forward to helping Novell convert a lot of Windows shops to Linux."

REALbasic 2006 Release 3 for Linux includes the following new features:

Version control format. Save and export projects in text format for use
with version control systems such as CVS and Subversion.

Check for errors. Find errors in your code without having to build an
application.

Usability and productivity updates. Improved project navigation,
including the following:
 - Automatically save state and option settings from session to session
- Open various editors in separate windows depending on set preferences
 - Set default properties and properties lists in separate floating
palettes
 - Icons and non-printing characters can now be used as menu item
shortcuts.

Linux-specific improvements.
 - Improved user experience and increased reliability for REALbasic and
the applications it creates for Linux.

Pricing and Availability

Any REALbasic user with a current update plan can download REALbasic
2006 Release 3 now and begin using it at no additional cost. Upgrades
start at $49. REALbasic for Linux Standard Edition is offered for free
as in beer. For new users, REALbasic for Linux Professional Edition, required for
cross-platform deployment, is $500. REALbasic 2006 Release 3 is
