REAL Software Ships REALbasic 2006 Release 3 for Macintosh; Improves
Productivity, Supports Team Project Development
AUSTIN, Texas, USA (July 6, 2006) -- REAL Software, Inc., provider of
REALbasic, cross-platform that really works, announced today that
REALbasic
2006 Release 3 for Macintosh is available now. In addition to the
over 100
features and fixes that have been added, REALbasic 2006 Release 3 for
Macintosh provides users a wide variety of options for customizing user
interfaces, both for REALbasic and for the applications it creates.
REALbasic 2006 Release 3 for Macintosh includes the following new
features:
* Version control format. Save and export projects in text format for
use with version control systems such as CVS and Subversion.
* Check for errors. Find errors in your code without having to build an
application.
* Usability and productivity updates. Improved project navigation,
including the following:
- Automatically save state and option settings from session to
session
- Open various editors in separate windows depending on set
preferences
- Set default properties and properties lists in separate
floating
palettes
- Icons and non-printing characters can now be used as menu item
shortcuts.
Note: Universal Binary support is currently under development and is
expected in a forthcoming release of REALbasic. Given the REALbasic
Rapid
Release Model, this capability will be made available to customers as
soon
as it is finalized. More information will be distributed as it is
available.
Pricing and Availability
Any REALbasic user with a current update plan can download REALbasic
2006
Release 3 now and begin using it at no additional cost. Upgrades
start at
$49. REALbasic for Macintosh Standard Edition starts at $99. For new
users,
REALbasic for Macintosh Professional Edition, required for cross-
platform
deployment, is $500. REALbasic 2006 Release 3 is available now and
can be
downloaded directly from REAL Software at www.realbasic.com/download.
