REAL Studio already has a built-in database, why do I need REAL Server?
The database built into REAL Studio is a single-user database engine. It is a very useful when developing a single user database application (like an address book) but it does not support multiple simultaneous users. For those situations, REAL Server is ideal.
How much does REAL Server cost?

Can I bundle REAL Server with my application and resell it?
Yes. The REAL Server license allows you to resell it.
How does the unlimited deployment plan work?
The unlimited deployment plan is the best option for any developer who expects to deploy more than 30 servers per year.
In this plan you are entitled to deploy an unlimited number of copies of REAL Server with your application during a 12 month period for a fixed price. During this time period you may deploy new licenses and update any existing licenses you may have already deployed.
When your 12-month plan ends all of the licenses you deployed during this period remain active, but you cannot deploy more copies of REAL Server until you renew your agreement.
Can I move my REAL Server from one platform to another?
The REAL Server license is not platform specific. So, you can move your server from one platform to another, but you are only allowed to run REAL Server on one platform at a time.
Why should I use REAL Server when MySQL is free?
Like MySQL, REAL Server is free for development. MySQL is free for internal and open source projects but (like REAL Server) is not free for commercial deployment. If you writing software using MySQL that you will license to others for a fee, you must obtain a commercial license for MySQL. How many users can the REAL Server handle?
Although REAL Server has been tested with hundreds of simultaneous users, we recommend 10-50 simultaneous users for best results.
What is the maximum database size that REAL Server can handle?
Although the hard limit is much higher, REAL Server is recommended for databases up to 10 gigabytes in size.
Can I access REAL Server from languages other than REALbasic?
Yes. REAL Server can be accessed from PHP, C and any application that support the Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) standard.

What are the limits on the free developer license?
The developer license requires you to restart the server every two hours. The REAL Server license prohibits using a developer license key for commercial deployment.
